Keith Cook

Born in 1979 in Sterling, IL, Keith plays tuba in Sterling High School’s band.

He is the first boy Cassandra kisses and the first boy to touch her sexually.  He tries to pressure her to have sex, but she isn’t ready.  Eventually, he tires of waiting and has sex with Karen King instead, ending his relationship with Cassie.

By the time of the Class of 1997’s 10 year reunion, Keith has grown fat and bald and has four ex-wives.

Todd Miller

Todd Miller is Cassandra’s boyfriend her sophomore year of high school.

Born in late 1976 in Sterling, IL, his father is a lawyer and his mother is a nurse.

He works out and can hold an intelligent conversation unlike most boys.  He also owns a car and has his own telephone line.

Todd is the founder of Cassandra’s condom rule.  She loses her virginity to him in 1995.

He attends Drake University with the goal of being an attorney and taking over his father’s law firm.

Cassandra and Todd break up when he goes away to college, although he loves her. The pair reunite for an evening in Summer 1999.

Todd married a fellow attorney whom he met at Drake. They divorce years later after having two kids together.  Todd takes over the family law firm after his dad had a stroke.

Travis White

Travis White is a boy Cassandra dated for a few months during their junior year. She is his second girlfriend, but he’s a virgin.

Born in 1979 in Sterling, IL, Travis is one of Sterling High School’s football players. He believes it’s his only key to getting into college.

He has great body, but he isn’t smart.  He uses steroids to get buff, and this causes sexual side effects.  Cassandra has no tolerance for drugs and breaks up with him.

After the breakup, he dates a cheerleader who likes football.  He continues to do drugs, however, and by 2007 he’s in prison for drug possession.

Jason Brookes

Born in 1979 in Sterling, IL, Jason Brookes is Cassandra‘s boyfriend in high school from mid-junior year to late senior year.  They met when he became her critique partner in Honors English and her lab partner in Honors Chemistry.

Like Cassandra, his goal is to earn a full-ride college scholarship, and the pair compete to see who will be class valedictorian.  The honor goes to Jason by a slim margin. He is accepted to Northwestern.

Jason breaks up with Cassandra in April 1997, claiming all she thinks about is sex and rubs in her face the fact that she’s only attending a state school.  He also has trust issues in the relationship, stemming from Cassie’s refusal to tell him what happened to Tonya.

Jason has younger half brothers.

Jesse Smith

Jesse Smith is Cassandra‘s boyfriend for several months during their freshman year at the University of Illinois where he majors in business administration.

Born in Cairo, IL, (the state’s southern-most city) in 1979, Jesse has a bit of an accent.  His family attends church in Missouri where his sister is engaged to someone from the congregation.

Raised Pentecostal, Jesse’s family didn’t let him listen to music or celebrate Halloween and taught him to save sex for his spouse because he can’t love her completely otherwise.  He is a virgin when he meets Cassie.

Jesse agonizes over whether to engage in sexual activity with Cassie, but eventually gives in to his urges.  The relationship, however, is short lived.  He breaks up with her a few months after losing his virginity, telling her the devil is working through her to tempt him off the good path.

Lars Olsen

Lars Olsen is Cassandra‘s boyfriend for several months during her sophomore year at the University of Illinois.

Born in Ivesdale, IL, in 1976, Lars is bilingual.  His parents were born in Sweden.

Studying for a Master of Science in Biology, Lars wants to go into environmental science and save struggling ecosystems.  His goal is to attend the MIT School of Science for his Ph.D.

Lars lives in graduate housing with his best friend, a fellow science student.

He is a huge football fan.

Lars has a small penis. This isn’t, however, what breaks him and Cassie up.  It’s the dildo he buys her for her 20th birthday and his insistence she use it to orgasm without manual stimulation.

Ian Thompson

Ian Thompson is Cassandra‘s love interest during her junior year at the University of Illinois.

In his mid-20s, Ian is the Camelot store manager and Cassandra’s boss.

He lives in Urbana, but never went to college and he often asks her questions about life at the university.

Cassandra is attracted to Ian’s great smile, and he’s attracted to her tight ass.  The pair engage in an office affair.  When Cassie finally confronts him, he admits that he has a fiancée and Cassie is the other woman.

Ian is worried about Y2K.

Troy Golden

Troy Golden is Cassandra‘s boyfriend for a few months during her junior year at the University of Illinois where he’s majoring in something computer related.

Born 1978, his father is a mechanic.

Troy has many peculiar habits including touching his face a lot, which he claims is because of allergies, and wearing a lined hat.

He participates in student government and has opinions on current events, but hates lobbyists.

Cassie breaks up with Troy after learning he hears aliens.

Mark Levy

Mark Levy takes Cassandra on one date during her junior year at the University of Illinois after he becomes convinced they are destined to be together following two chance meetings.

Born 1961, Mark is an Urbana native who works in downtown Champaign for the city and at the U of I as an adjunct professor of engineering.

He desperately wants to get married and have kids. Mark won’t take “no” for an answer and continues to repeatedly call and text Cassie even though she told him she wasn’t interested in a relationship. The phone stalking doesn’t stop until Corey threatens him.

Corey Fuchs

Corey Fuchs is Cassandra‘s boyfriend at the University of Illinois, starting in May 2000.  When she goes home for summer break, they continue their courtship via telephone.

Born in 1974 in Bloomington, IL, Corey is a tall bottle blond with spiked hair, tattoos and piercings in his ears and nose.

His father died in Vietnam in 1975 and never met him.  He was raised by his stepfather Jerry who was friends with Corey’s father.

His overbearing mother, Carolyn, wishes he had a normal hairstyle, would remove his piercings and laser away his tattoos, and get married.  His stepdad agrees, but keeps his opinions to himself.

Corey has two half siblings:  Ben, who is married to Beth, and Madelaine, a high school senior.  He also has a step-sister, Melody, who is married to Jacob and has a baby.

Corey doesn’t want children. One of his favorite foods is Chinese, his favorite ice cream is blueberry, and his favorite game is Scrabble because of the vocabulary skills and word combinations.

He is obsessed with Edgar Allan Poe and has many Poe inspired tattoos.  They include Poe’s face, a raven, Lenore, a black cat, the House of Usher, the Red Death, the Tell-Tale Heart, the Pit and Pendulum, Rue Morgue and lines of poetry.  Corey got his first tattoo when he was 18.

Corey is studying to become an American Literature professor.  He will finish his Ph.D. in 2007.  During the summer, he tutors kids in English and substitute teaches during the school year for Champaign Unit 4 School District.
